Barren No More

Our church has been praying for women and families who want to conceive but have not yet. There have been many of these families who have been healed. I can count 9 women that I know personally who have miraculously been healed of severe female issues in the past 7 years. I asked one of those women to share her story. I pray that it encourages you to believe in the miraculous.

"I always had trouble with ovarian cysts.  When I was a freshman in high school, I had surgery to remove a dermoid cyst. My doctor told me they completely damaged one of my ovaries and partially damaged the other and I would probably never be able to have children. So when I got pregnant with our daughter, we had no idea what was going on!

After our daughter was born, I started having horrible pain that just kept getting worse. I went to a doctor and he told me that he was 99% sure I had endometriosis (which is a disease where scar tissue forms around your ovaries and they can no longer function properly.) but to be 100% sure I had it they would have to go in and take tissue out and evaluate it. He said that the disease was irreversible, would only get worse, and I needed to get a hysterectomy if I wanted any relief at all. Not wanting to get a hysterectomy at 21, I got a second opinion. That doctor confirmed what the other doctor had told me, and said that I would eventually have to get a hysterectomy, but we would do whatever we could to postpone it. She put me on birth control continuously, and after a couple of months, my pain was better.

My husband and I started going to the Vineyard Campbellsville Church in Kentucky. After a few months we started wanting to have another baby. We both knew this was pretty much impossible, but the Lord cares about the desires of our heart, right? We invited the pastor and his wife over for dinner and were talking to them about it, and after they left, we felt encouraged and decided to make a doctor appointment to discuss getting off birth control and trying to do the impossible.

So I went to the doctor, and she seemed optimistic, until she examined me. She found a large cyst on my only working ovary. She was very concerned because of the size and scheduled an ultrasound for the following week. At that point I just wanted my cyst to go away so I didn’t need surgery so that Sunday I decided to go up for prayer after church. I told the prayer team that only one of my ovaries worked and it had a cyst on it and I would probably need surgery and they started to pray. After a few seconds, the Lord showed up! One man told me that not only was the Lord going to heal my cyst, but that the other ovary was going to be healed and then he said “you are going to have more babies”. He didn’t even know this was a desire of mine.

About a week later my doctor called me with my ultrasound results. She said “I don’t even know how to say this, but your cyst is completely gone, and there aren’t even traces that it ruptured, it was like it was never there.”  So my husband and I decided to try to have a baby! Not only was my cyst healed, but I got pregnant the first month that we tried, if that isn’t the Lord I don’t know what is! We now have a perfectly healthy little boy and I haven’t had any pain since then, so I am positive that my endometriosis was healed as well. So I went from having no hope that I would give birth to children, to being healed and having the most perfect children that I could ever imagine. And I feel encouraged that the same thing can happen to anyone who calls on the Lord!"
